Noureddine Ouarhim’s studio in Essaouira

Noureddine Ouarhim lives and works in Essaouira. His practice spans painting, sculpture, ceramics, drawing, lithography, land art and installation. The materials he uses come from the land: soil, barley grain, bark and tree roots, set alongside drawing and painting. Through that matter he pursues a reflection on memory, roots, belonging and Amazigh identity. Born in 1992 in Ida Ougourd, in the Haha region, he graduated from the Institut National des Beaux-Arts in Tétouan in 2017.
